A joint inspection visit by LLDA Surveillance and Monitoring Division (SMD) headed by Engr. Aloysius B. Capisonda together with Brgy. Tabacalera Chairmain Richard Palican, Treasury Department Head, representatives from Pateros MENRO and DENR-EMB NCR, was conducted earlier today after a discoloration was observed in Sto. Rosario River in Pateros on September 16, 2021.

Based on the initial findings, the source of the discharge has been AC Manalo Enterprises, a junkshop allegedly owned by a certain Artemio Manalo located at 54 FC Cruz, Brgy. Tabacalera. Upon the team’s arrival in the source location, Mr. Zaldy Manalo, junkshop caretaker, confirmed that half of the 31.8 kg container containing liquid dye accidentally spilled on the floor that flowed through the street canals as it was washed away by rainwater.

Upon arrival in the said river, discoloration was already barely evident. Nevertheless, samples of wastewater were collected from the floor drain for further analysis and Brgy. Chairman Palican already ordered the caretaker to pull out the liquid materials that were stored in the junk shop.
