LOOK: Last Monday (June 14, 2021), LLDA as a partner of the Federation of River Basin Councils in the Laguna de Bay Region participated in the launching of the Adopt a Tree Project which was conducted simultaneous with the celebration of the 120th Founding Anniversary of the Province of Rizal on 14th of June 2021 at Sitio Bugarin, Brgy. Halayhayin, Pililla, Rizal (Pililla Windmill Farm). President Bobby M. Azores and the other officers of the federation most especially the President of the different river councils headed the launching of the project.
On behalf of LLDA’s General Manager Joey C. Medina, Ms. Catherine L. Buena, Department Manager III of the Management Services Department (MSD), Mr. Jaime G. Mora, Officer-in-Charge of the Community Development Division (CDD), and LLDA’s CDD staff attended the said event to give the utmost support to FRBC. Also present in the said event were the officers and members of the Rizal Association of City/Municipal ENRO (RACMENRO) who partnered with FRBC in the tree planting activity headed by Rizal ENRO Mario T. Cayetano and its President Engr. Violeta S. Faiyaz, CEWMO of Antipolo City. The dignitaries that graced the occasion were: Rizal Vice Governor Reynaldo H. San Juan Jr., M.D., President, Provincial League of City/Municipal Councilors, Mayor Olivia F. De Leon of Morong Rizal, Pililla Mayor Dan V. Masinsin, and Vice Mayor Rafael L. Carpio as the LGU host
LLDA commends the commitment of the FRBC in sustaining various watershed rehabilitation programs such as river rehabilitation and reforestation which aims to reduce the impact of deforestation and soil erosion. There were four hundred fifty (450) seedlings consists of kawayan, fruit-bearing and forest trees planted in the windmill farm. Pililla Designate Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) Engr. Razaele Paul N. Labiste pledged to do the supervision and maintenance of the planted seedlings to ensure high survival rate.
