TAIWAN AQUACULTURE TRADE MISSION TO THE PHILIPPINES

As part of the itinerary of the week-long Aquaculture Trade Mission, LLDA - led by General Manager Jaime Medina, Assistant General Manager Generoso Dungo and Environmental Regulations Department Head Engr. Emiterio "Emil" C. Hernandez - joined the Taiwanese delegates on a site visit to Laguna de Bay. The small party was delighted to see and experience first-hand the thriving beauty of the freshwater lake.

After touring the expansive fish pen, fishpen operator Emelito Felix offered the group a glimpse on how they harvest tilapia and bangus, proudly showing off the large-sized fish that were grown this season.

During the trip, General Manager Medina took the opportunity to share some of LLDA’s best practices, as well as learn about new technologies developed and used in Taiwan, such as the “Early Detection of Aquaculture Viruses by IMR,” which can help immediately identify any viruses that may have affected the fish harvest.
